Mixed Messages

The McCain campaign seems to be taking responsibility for the bailout while simultaneously evading responsibility for it. Here is McCain's senior economic adviser Douglas Holtz-Eakin attempting to sell this strange contradiction.

Also of particular note is the trend which has yet to taper off, indicating Obama is opening up a wider lead:

I don't really have anything to add except why did McCain choose some bald, drunken hobo for his economics adviser?

Oh boy, you know he just picked someone off of the street in New York.
On Palin, this kinda reminds me of the dumb choice that Bush made when he chose ol' Harriet for the Supreme Court vacancy...you see where that ended up...

The expectations for her on Thursday are so low all she has to do is show up to be considered the winner.

I don't think Biden expected after a lifetime of service to end up debating a dribbling infant so it's really not fair to him to be quite honest.

Oh yes, I definitely agree with that. It's almost like Leo Bernstein competing for a position with the New York Phil against some piss-ant, guy with no experience whatsoever.
Highly insulting. McCain clearly doesn't have the capacity to make sound judgement, as we've seen with picking Palin.
