No One Could 'Spectorlate' This

Well, after months of wondering what was going to happen in Washington, DC, and the make-up of the current US Senate, we now have a firm suggestion as to what might happen. Sen. Arlen Spector of Pennsylvania, formerly a Republican, announced Tuesday that he was going to switch from the Republican to the Democratic Party. Spector was a moderate for the Republicans in the senate and one of three Senators a few months ago to vote for the large stimulus package that President Obama pushed for.

Spector's move now puts the Democrats closer to the 60 votes they need to be virtually 'unstoppable,' assuming Al Franken is put in the Senate from Minnesota. Time will tell.

so what are your thoughts on this?

Well, it depends, really. Mostly, this just lets us know that your Party is unwilling to listen to ideas that are not right of the Atlantic Ocean.

haha...right, joseph.

Like republicans have ever been willing to work across the aisle.

This is everything a liberal like me has been praying for, a filibuster proof senate with a dem in the white house.

Oh, Sabi...what a bad way to think...letting the Dems do ANYTHING they want to do?! Where's the democracy in that? Come on, now...

A democratic republic. The people chose who they want to make the decisions.

If only it were that simple... You know the elected officials are supposed to do the will of the people...I doubt that's being done in most instances.
